This RLE works well for May 2021 TOK essay Prescribed Title #4 RLE. Although the linked article doesn’t mention it explicitly, the actual research study done by Professor Suzanne Simard and her graduate students did use statistics as part of the research process.
Take a close look at the original research and look at how the statistics are used to conceal / reveal. In this particular case it might be easier to find how statistics are used to reveal. You could then find another natural sciences RLE in the natural sciences where statistics are used to reveal and analyze the differences between the two.
