Article : “Masked artist makes sticky issue out of radiation in Japan”
“Known as 281 Antinuke, Japan’s answer to Banksy has covered Tokyo streets in images depicting politicians as vampires and children being shielded from radioactive rain to highlight the consequences of a meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear plant after an earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011.” https://www.reuters.com/article/us-art-japan-nuclear/masked-artist-makes-sticky-issue-out-of-radiation-in-japan-idUSBRE9AS00C20131129
The artist, 281 Antinuke, is protesting the government’s poor handling of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. There is a tremendous amount of information about how the government reacted after the earthquake; the conclusions are based on a significant amount of evidence and seem to be very reliable. However, there is a lack of certainty with 281 Antinuke and his art. The art does not contain much in the way of details and the artist is anonymous.
