Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale has fairly recently been republished in the form of a graphic novel. The language of the quite dense novel has been pared down to a fraction of the original.
The “What if” question in this RLE could be related to whether or not the graphic novel is necessary for our understanding of the issues Atwood originally raised in the novel.
