BBC Article: “Kenya pollution: How air sensors are helping people fight pollution” https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-50647465
The subject of the BBC News article, John Keiti, lives in a part of Kenya that suffers from serious pollution. He borrowed air pollution sensors and set up a system that broadcast the data. As a result a local factory has had to improve it’s filtering system leading to cleaner air.
The process that Keiti went through was unique to his particular situation but that process could still be adapted elsewhere by individuals and NGOs who want / need to set up a similar system on their own due.
The process in this RLE is also important because the data must be trustworthy if it is to create change.
The end result is clearly significant as Keith’s work has led to reductions in pollution.
